German/Turkish welter Alpaslan Aguzum takes on South African Joseph Makaringe for the WBC Int´l title November 10 at the 6000-seater Sporthalle (formerly Alsterdorfer Sporthalle) in Hamburg. Co-headlining is WBC Int´l heavy champ Sinan Samil Sam who takes on Australian Bob Mirovic. Sam is also the mandatory challenger for EBU champ Vladimir Virchis but manager Ahmet Oener, who also heads Arena Box Promotion, feels that a fight against Virchis is a step in the wrong direction. “We are number four in the WBC ratings, why risk that?”. Also on the bill are heavies Goran Gogic and Adnan Serin – against eachother and newly crowned EU middle champ Mahir Oral. All in all Arena will have around ten fights on the bill.

Former EBU heavy king Paolo Vidoz fights November 4 in Piacenza when he takes on Russian journeyman Alexey Osokin. Vidoz lost the title in July to Vladimir Virchis on a one-punch knockout.

Hungarian promoter Felix Racz have announced his retirement in a very surprising move. Racz shuts down his company Felix-Promotion and walks away from boxing at the age of 28 simply because he “don´t enjoy it anymore”. Racz began at the age of 14 with his father George the Unio Boxteam and was for a number of years shipping opponents around in Europe but also developed solid maineventers in Zoltan Kalocsai and Laszlo Bognar at home. After parting with his father Felix became Hungary´s leading promoter and had a number of stars such as middleweight Andres Galfi, jr light Janos Nagy and supermiddle Joszef Nagy.

German supermiddle Jurgen Brahmer will now fight October 28 in Stuttgart instead of October 21 in Halle an der Saale as was originally planned. Brahmer face Argentinian Francisco Mora. Headlining in Stuttgart is WBO I/C heavy titleholder Alexander Dimitrenko. Universum probably felt the show needed a little “strengthening” after moving Ruslan Chagaev vs John Ruiz to November 18 in Duesseldorf.

Dutch heavy Harry Duiven headlines a part boxing/part martial arts show October 29 in Hoofddorp.

There will be at least one Sweden vs Denmark clash at Parken in Copenhagen October 14 as heavies Claus Bertino and Mikael Lindblad square off.
