10.24.04 – Orange, Ca – A new generation of fighters will commence its “Path to Glory” as Thompson Boxing Promotions features one of its most exciting boxing cards of the year. Young and talented boxers who are hungry for notoriety must prove themselves at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario this Friday, October 29.

The six-bout card will start at 7:30 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m., and it will showcase twelve eager fighters with intentions to move up in the boxing world rapidly. A press conference and weigh in to formally announce the event will take place on Thursday, October 28, at Misty’s Lounge located at the Doubletree Hotel at 10:00 a.m.

In the main event, Jose Lopez (10-1, 6 KOs) will face Ulises Peña (11-3, 4 KOs) in a super featherweight eight rounder. This soon-to-be barnburner has two combatants that have won their last seven bouts in a row. Lopez, who is known for his punching style and power, has a tall frame and reach that he used as an advantage. Lopez, a fast starter, will take it to the Valley’s hard-chinned brawler Ulises Peña, who has enjoyed a successful run in the last 12 months
amounting all wins. Both fighters know of the risks of this match and are preparing for what will be the hardest test of their careers.

In semi main event, Brazilian knockout artist Joilson Do Santos (6-0, 6 KOs) will face his toughest opponent to date. Ramon “The Killer” Espinoza has defeated undefeated foes in the past and he will bring that attitude to the ring in this middleweight six rounder. The likeliness of either fighter scoring a knock out are undoubtedly great, considering these two heavy punchers.

In a junior welterweight six-round battle, Alex Viramontes (5-1, 3 KOs) from Riverside will fight Roderick “Nino” Grajeda (5-4-1, 3 KOs) from Anaheim, and it will also ensure some fireworks. Viramontes is a crafty puncher and he will fight close to his hometown for the first time in his career. “Nino” is a motivated fighter who is known in Southern California gyms as a tough-as-nails boxer who brings or takes the best out of his opponents.

Also on the card, Shaun Plessis (8-0, 3 KOs) from Sparwood, Canada, will put his unblemished record on the line against Mauricio Borquez (10-12-1, 10 KOs), of Lakeside. This six round lightweight bout matches Plessis who is trained and managed by 2004 World Boxing Hall of Fame Inductee Jessie Reid. Plessis is an accomplished fighter who will take some chances against an elusive Borquez, a man that has lost more fights but all his wins have been by way of knock
out.

Two four-round fights will close an exciting night of boxing as Danny “The Bear” Garcia (1-0), from Pomona, will face Pablo Platas, from San Diego, who will be making his professional debut in a super middleweight battle. An finally “The Desert’s Storm” Timothy Ray Bradley Jr. will try to continue his winning ways as he faces Raul Nuñez, from Bakersfield will also be making his professional debut.
