Brian Viloria headlines “Night of the Olympians” Feb. 13

31.01.04 – Sugar Ray Leonard Boxing will be bringing the ever-exciting “Hawaiian Punch,” Brian Viloria (13-0-0, 8 K.O.’s) to The Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut on February 13th in an NABF title defense against world-class contender Juan Alfonso Keb Baas (30-9-2, 20 K.O.’s). The 12-round title fight will headline ESPN2’s February 13th Friday Night Fights telecast.

Co-featured on the telecast will be 2000 Olympic Bronze Medalist, bantamweight “Untouchable” Clarence Vinson (12-1-0, 5 K.O.’s) from Washington, D.C. in a ten-round contest against the crafty Dominican, Fausto Rosario (11-9-0, 6 K.O.s). Both Viloria and Vinson are on track for world title bids in 2004.

Viloria plans to keep his record unblemished in this competitive ESPN showcase. “I have been training long and hard with Freddie Roach and have had the very best sparring in the world. At Freddie’s gym, I work with the top talent in the world. By sparring with guys like Rosendo Alvarez, Luis Perez, Fernando Montiel, and Karen Hartyunyan, I know I am ready for anything. Keb Baas is a tough, experienced fighter and I won’t take him lightly. I promise an impressive showing!”

Vinson looks to bounce back from a controversial split-decision loss against world title contender, Heriberto Ruiz. “I thought I won the Ruiz fight, but two of the judges saw it the other way. It was a painful learning experience, but I plan to erase all doubts with an exciting showing against Rosario. I want a world title by the end of the year and I’ve put my professional team to work to make it happen.”

Also scheduled to be on the card is 2000 Olympian Super-Middleweight, Jerson Ravelo (13 – 0 – 0, 9 K.O.’s) against an opponent to be announced shortly.
