Rob Hunt, Stafford Boxer, Added to ‘The Heat Is On’
Stoke’s Rob Hunt is ready to go again after six months out of the ring.
The popular boxer is back in action for the first time since his International Masters Welterweight Title defeat at the fists of Steven Pearce last November when he appears on EJKO Promotions’ ‘The Heat Is On’ Show at Walsall Town on Friday, 11th July.
Hunt is eager to put that defeat to bed and make a return to winning ways as he looks to plot a course that will put him back in the title mix.
“I feel good after a rest,” he told www.uko-boxing.com. “You need a bit of time away just to weigh things up and I’ve had that now.
“I thought I was on top against Pearce when he caught me. He hit me flush in the solar plexus and there’s nothing you can do about that.
“I was back in the gym a week after the fight so although I haven’t been in the ring for a few months, I’ve been keeping myself in good shape. Once boxing is in your blood, there’s no getting away from it.
“I don’t know much about Keith. He’s just come back to the sport after a few years out and I notice het got a win on his return to the ring in April. I’m training hard for this one.”
Tipton’s Lee Glover tops ‘The Heat Os On’ bill in a British Masters Featherweight Title whilst Walsall’s British Masters Light Welterweight Champion, Luke Paddock, is chief support.
Birmingham super featherweight prospect, Sean ‘Show Time’ Davis, takes on Bristol’s Harvey Hemsley, Halesowen super middleweight prospect, Lennox Clarke, takes on Joe Walsh, and Stafford’s undefeated super middleweight, Grant Cunningham, steps in with Jamie Ambler.
Wolverhampton brother’s Des and Sid Bowater no longer feature.
Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900.
The show will be aired live and exclusive on BBC WM’s DAB Digital Service and online at www.bbc.co.uk/wm. The aftershow party and weigh-in both take place at the Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall.
