‘Welsh Pride’ – Professional Boxing Show

The Weigh In for ‘Welsh Pride’ will be 3pm at Merthyr Leisure Centre Thursday 20th March. Tickets still available to what promises to be a great night of professional boxing, bringing Welsh boxing back to it’s roots.

Kerry Hope challenges Welsh middleweight champion Frankie Borg of Cardiff for his prestigious title and the bragging rights to say who is the best middleweight in Wales. The Merthyr Tydfil leisure centre formerly Rhydycar leisure centre will play host to the intriguing match up.

Both men are confident of the battle ahead, the champion Borg saying; “I feel fantastic we are just putting the finishing touches together in the gym this week and I can’t wait to relax and get down to business on Friday.”

Hope, who is immensely popular within his home town of Merthyr will be looking to snatch the crown to add to his collection which includes a European title.

Also on the bill will be the ever popular Robbie Turley who makes his comeback after being out of the ring for two years.

Also on the bill will be WBC International Champion Chris ‘Rok’n’Rolla’ Jenkins, former Welsh challenger Tony Pace, Adam Goldsmith (Newport), and Hassan Karkardi of Bristol

The event will be shown live on Eurosport across 109 countries and the promoter Sanigar events expect to bring more shows to the Merthyr area later in the year.
