Provodnikov/Algieri, Andrade/Rose Officials Announced

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the officials who will work this Saturday, June 14, in the defenses of the world champions Ruslan Provodnikov and Demetrius Andrade against Chris Algieri and Brian Rose, respectively, to be held in New York, and for the interim bantamweight title bout between Alejandro Hernandez and Daniel Rosas in Mexico.

For the first defense of the WBO junior welterweight champion, Ruslan Provodnikov (23-2, 16 KOs), who is going to face the 13th ranked Chris Algieri (19-0, 8 KOs), the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) named Harvey Dock (New Jersey) as the referee.

The judges for the Provodnikov-Algieri clash, a Banner Promotions presentation to be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, will be Donald Trella (Connecticut), Tom Schreck (New York) and Max DeLuca (California). The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Jose R. Izquierdo.

Provodnikov, a native of Russia, won the title last October 19, 2013, when he defeated then-champion Mike Alvarado by TKO in the tenth round.

Also in this show, the WBO junior middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade (20-0, 13 KOs) will defend for the first time his belt against the #1 ranked Brian Rose (25-1-1, 7 KOs), from United Kingdom. For this bout the referee will be Michael Griffin, from Canada.

The judges for this fight are Julie Lederman (New York), John Poturaj (New Jersey) and Alan Rubenstein (Pennsylvania). The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Rafael Lopez Santos.

While, at the Arena Jorge Cuesy in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico, Alejandro Hernandez (27-10-2, 15 KOs) and Daniel Rosas (17-1-1, 11 KOs) will fight for the interim WBO bantamweight title, in a Promociones Zanfer presentation. Hernandez, who is the WBO Inter-Continental bantamweight champion, is ranked #3 and Rosas is ranked #11 by the WBO in the bantamweights. The referee for this fight will be Samuel Viruet, from United States.

The judges for the bout between Hernandez and Rosas are Adalaide Byrd, from United States, and Mexicans Alejandro López Cid and Alfredo Polanco. The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Luis Perez.
