Video: Floyd Mayweather Discusses Future Opponents
See, people fail to realize, this is a business. It’s not about working harder. You know, my next fight, I’ll be 37 years old. It’s not about working harder; it’s about working smarter…I’m not scared of nobody. I’m not scared of no opponent at all…when I faced Diego Corrales, he was undefeated. When I faced Ricky Hatton, he was undefeated. When I faced Canelo Alvarez, he was undefeated…there’s certain opponents that I’m looking for,” stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather, who discussed the process of opponent selection that he and his team go through when it comes to his pay-per-view bouts.
“It’s certain moves that Canelo Alvarez is making, me, I mean, as a businessman, I don’t like…what I would do if I was in Canelo Alvarez’s shoes, I would say, the same guy that fought Ishe, I think his name is [Carlos] Molina, the same guy that fought Ishe, fight that guy on my undercard for my next bout,” stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather, who believes that former jr. middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez would be wise to face IBF jr. middleweight champion Carlos Molina on the undercard of his upcoming May 3 return to the ring.
“Amir Khan, he has speed…the thing that I like about Amir Khan is he is very interesting; he has a pretty cool fan base, so that fight would make a lot of sense…when you have that UK fan base, it’s remarkable…we don’t know where the fight may happen at, but of course it could happen in the UK if the fight does happen. It could happen in Vegas, we just don’t know. It could happen in New York City, we really don’t know. Only thing we can do is just wait to see what’s going to happen and wait to see who my opponent is going to be,” stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather, who discussed why a clash with former jr. welterweight champion Amir Khan makes sense from a business standpoint.
