With eight fights was completed the Monday, April 28, show where Michael “The Artist” Perez and McJoe Arroyo, will headline in separate fights at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP), to be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Deportes.
In the main event, Perez (19-1-1, 10 KOs) will defend for the first time his super lightweight WBA Fedelatin title when he takes on Mexican Jorge “Koky” Romero (24-7, 21 KOs) in a 10 round bout.
Meanwhile, the co-main event changed and the former Puerto Rican Olympian McJoe Arroyo (13-0, 7 KOs) will face his fellow countrymen David Quijano (15-4-1, 9 KOs) in a bantamweight and eight round fight. Arroyo would face the Dominican Eliezer Aquino (16-0-1, 10 KOs) in an IBF super flyweight eliminator clash, but Aquino suffered an injury and will not fight against Arroyo.
“Eliezer Aquino injured his right hand in a tune up fight he made on March 10 in Dominican Republic and still has not recovered. We hope to make that elimination bout between Arroyo and Aquino in the Summer. We did not want McJoe wait and find David Quijano, who we know is a good foe”, said PRBBP President Ivan Rivera.
