Lee Glover will now take on Andy Harris
Tipton’s Lee Glover will now take on Gloucester’s Andy Harris for the British Masters Super Featherweight Title at Walsall Town Hall next week.
The Tipton Slasher was due to take on Joe Beeden but Harris has stepped into replace the Swindon man in what promises to be an electrifying contest.
Glover goes into the fight on the back of a paper thin English Title defeat to Jon Kays whilst Harris is well known to the Walsall public following his brave showing against local hero, Luke Paddock, for a Masters strap earlier this year.
“I’m ready for this,” Glover told www.uko-boxing.com. “Everyone who was at the Kays fight said I won and I felt, in my heart of hearts, that I did too.
“That performance has given me the confidence to know I can mix with the best super featherweights in the country. I’ve had some great sparring in the build up to this. I’ve done a lot of work with Martin Gethin, who has really help bring me on.
“I’m in good shape and ready to bring my ‘A’ game.”
Walsall’s British Masters Light Welterweight Champion, Luke Paddock, is chief support as he takes on the experienced Kristian Laight.
Halesowen super middleweight Lennox Clarke will be looking to record a fourth straight win when he steps in with Croydon’s Joe Walsh.
Stafford’s Grant Cunningham makes a welcome return to ring action. The undefeated super middleweight prospect will be looking to make it 9-0 when he takes on the dangerous welsh scrapper, Jamie Ambler.
Birmingham super featherweight prospect, Sean ‘Show Time’ Davis, takes on Bristol’s Harvey Hemsley.
Stafford’s Rob Hunt completes the card.
The show will be aired live and exclusive on BBC WM’s DAB Digital Service and online at www.bbc.co.uk/wm.
Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. The aftershow party and weigh-in both take place at the Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall.
