Tim-Robin Lihaug to show ring magic in Copenhagen on Nov 16
Tim-Robin Lihaug aka “Timsalabim” will try to make the next opponent disappear when he steps through the ropes at the Nordic Fight Night in Albertslund on November 16. The 21-year-old Norwegian (4-1, 3 KOs) gave a taste of his ring magic in September, stopping Tzvetozar Iliev in the first round of their fight in Frederikshavn. Next up for Lihaug is a clash with Germany´s Steve Kroekel (17-23-3, 7 KOs). “This is an important fight for me,” he said. “Kroekel is a solid guy with a lot of experience. But I will live up to my nickname Timsalabim. I am like a magician in the ring, my opponents never know what to expect. And I will make them disappear!”
Promoter Nisse Sauerland hopes for another entertaining appearance. “We are looking forward to seeing Timsalabim´s magic in the ring,” he stated. “With Joey Gamache in his corner, he will have a great game plan to please his audience.”
Lihaug enjoys working with the US star coach, who is a former two-time world champion. “It´s great,” he said. “Joey and I hit it off immediately and found great chemistry from the very beginning. He is letting me be myself. And everything we are working on suits me fine. I believe Joey is the man who can help me to the top… because the top is what I am aiming for!
“I don´t want to spend all my time on boxing just to be the number two. Since I put on my gloves for the first time, I told myself that one day I will be the best. And this day is coming closer. Beating Kroekel on November 16 is the next step I have to take.”
Norway´s Simen Smaadal will also be fighting at Musikteatret Albertslund. In the main event of the evening, local hero Patrick Nielsen defends his WBA/WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Titles against Jose Pinzon from Mexico. Tickets are available at www.billetnet.dk.
