It’s a privilege to welcome elite level trainer Virgil Hunter back to the Pugilist KOrner. The always astute boxing mentor will discuss his pound for pound fighter’s dominant performance over previously undefeated Edwin Rodriguez on November 16th, as well as the status of his soon to be Welterweight star from Bolton, Lancashire, Amir Khan.
Making his way back to “The Pugilist KOrner” will be Junior Middleweight prospect Glen “Jersey Boy“ Tapia (20-0, 12 KOs). The highly touted Top Rank hopeful will talk about his upcoming bout with James Kirkland, which is slated to take place in Atlantic City, NJ, on December 7th. The bout will be broadcast on HBO, as part of an action filled triple header.
The Pugilist KOrner is proud to welcome to the show for the first time, newly signed Golden Boy Promotions Junior Welterweight prospect Keandre Gibson (8-0-1, 3 KOs). The highly touted boxer/puncher will talk about sparring with a virtual who’s who of boxing, Canelo Alvarez, Devon Alexander, Ruslan Provodnikov, Paulie Malignaggi, and Sugar Shane Mosley, and how it’s helped his progression as a prizefighter.
It’s always an honor to feature former WBA Junior Middleweight Champion Austin “No Doubt” Trout (26-1, 14 KOs) to the Pugilist KOrner. The slick southpaw will discuss his upcoming title opportunity on December 7th, against interim champ Erislandy Lara. Mr. Trout will also talk about the bad blood between him and the Cuban exile. The greatly anticipated showdown will be part of a terrific quadruple-header on Showtime Sports.
Appearing on the show once again will be Super Middleweight contender Don “Da Bomb” George (24-4-2, 21 KOs). The tough Chi-Town resident will talk about his future in the sport, as well as his role as a fight trainer in boxing. The always insightful boxing proponent will also give his take on the upcoming Adonis Stevenson/Tony Bellew and Sergei Kovalev/Ismayl Sillakh match-ups, which will air this Saturday night on HBO.
In the final segment of the program, The Pugilist KOrner is proud to feature Super Middleweight prospect “Hollywood” Mike Jimenez (11-0, 8 KOs). The hard working fighter will discuss tomorrow night’s scheduled six round contest with David Thomas at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana, as well as his “no contest” with Derrick Findley on September 13th.
Tonight’s two hour program will be hosted by producer and radio commentator James E. King III, and boxing writer and ring announcer Joseph Herron.
