Felix Sturm Wants Revenge
on May 31, 2014 IBF World Middleweight Champion Felix Sturm will defend his crown against IBF #1 and mandatory challenger Sam Soliman at the KoenigPALAST in Krefeld, Germany. Sturm and Soliman first met in the ring last February when the Australian won a narrow and disputed decision, which was later overturned into a no contest after Soliman tested positive for a banned substance.
Sturm: “This is not just a title defense for me. It’s also a day for redemption. He and his team acted unprofessional before the fight and when we received the news about him testing positive.. well, enough is enough. It’s time someone sends him into retirement.”

Felix Sturm will put his IBF Middleweight World Title on the line on May 31, 2014 against Australian mandatory challenger Sam Soliman at the KoenigPALAST in Krefeld, Germany. Sturm, who won the title via second round TKO against Darren Barker last December, is making the first defense of his title against an old rival. Soliman and Sturm fought before, last February, with Soliman winning a disputed decision that was later overturned to a NC after the Australian tested positive for a banned substance.
For Sturm, it’s now time to settle the score: “This fight really hurt. I felt like Bayern Munich must have felt when they lost the UEFA Champions League final in 2012 against Chelsea London. It was heartbreaking. But that’s in the past. I don’t care that he doped. That’s not an excuse for me. I want to erase all doubts; I want to show the world that I’m by far the superior fighter. I didn’t train like I should have before the first fight. That won’t happen again. I promise I will keep my world title.”
