Ricky Hatton hoping to get support
AFTER weeks of preparations, the day when Ricky Hatton shows his dance moves to the world in Let’s Dance for Comic Relief has arrived and he needs your votes to keep him in the competition.
‘The Hitman’ will be up against comedian’s Tim Vine and Olivia Lee as well as a number of soap stars and other celebrities in tonight’s first heat.
And he knows he’ll have to wow the public with his fancy feet if he is to progress to the grand finale on March 9.
“I’m hoping everyone will get behind me because I’m as determined to do well in this I was in boxing career,” Ricky said.
“I’ve said before that my footwork was very underrated in the ring, and I think a few people will be surprised how well I move on the dance floor.
“The main thing, though, is that people support this good cause. Even if my moves let me down, I’ll still be very proud to have been involved in such as worthy event.”
Let’s Dance for Comic Relief will be screened live on BBC One at 6.50pm this evening and will be hosted by Alex Jones and Steve Jones.
There will be six acts performing in total, with two progressing to the final.
Voting is by telephone and the numbers for each act will be given out during the show.
All money raised from audience votes will go to Comic Relief, which holds its fun-filled Red Nose Day on Friday March 15.
Since its launch in 1985, Comic Relief has raised more than £600 million for good causes both here in the UK and in Africa.
