Michael Perez and McJoe Arroyo Media Day For April 28 Show

World contenders Michael Perez and McJoe Arroyo trained today before the media for their fights this Monday, April 28, at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, in a show presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP), to be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Deportes at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Perez and Arroyo, along with prospects John Karl Sosa and Prichard Colon worked at the Felix Pagan Pintor Gym in Guaynabo.

In the main event, Perez (19-1-1, 10 KOs) will defend for the first time his super lightweight WBA Fedelatin title when he takes on Mexican Jorge “Koky” Romero (24-7, 21 KOs) in a 10 round bout.

“I’m happy to fight again in Puerto Rico and I’m ready to face Romero, a good fighter, but my training camp has been very good and I’m going to win and continue in my way to become in a world champion”, Perez said.

Meanwhile, the co-main event changed and the former Puerto Rican Olympian McJoe Arroyo (13-0, 7 KOs) will face his fellow countryman David Quijano (15-4-1, 9 KOs) in a bantamweight and eight round fight.

The undercard will have world featherweight ranked (WBC #3, IBF #11 and WBO #13) Jayson “La Maravilla” Velez (21-0, 15 KOs) fighting against Miguel “Mikito” Soto (12-2, 12 KOs) in a featherweight brawl scheduled to 10 rounds.

In addition, prospect Prichard “Digget” Colon (8-0, 8 KOs) will fight for the fourth time in 2014 when he faces Javier Garcia (6-4-1, 2 KOs) in a junior middleweight and eight rounds clash. Undefeated John Karl Sosa (9-0, 6 KOs) will face Victor “Picu” Perez (3-1, 1 KOs) in a welterweight fight scheduled to six rounds.

In four round bouts, lighweight Jose Lopez (1-0, 1 KOs) will face Roberto Rivera (2-1, 1 KOs); in the junior featherweight Joshua Declet (2-0-1) will face Edgardo Marin (0-1); in the welterweights Willie Jones (3-0, 2 KOs) will fight against Juan Castillo (2-2, 2 KOs), and Rafael “El Pollo Blanco” Gonzalez (8-1, 6 KOs) will face an opponent to be determined in the lightweight division.
