Kiwitt Back On Home Soil
By Daniel Mole
Exeter welterweight, Freddy Kiwitt, is looking forward to fighting on home soil again when he appears on EJKO Promotions’ ‘Best of Devon 2’ show next month.
‘Pretty Boy’ will be looking to extend his unbeaten professional record to 5-0 at Torquay’s Riviera International Centre on Saturday, 13th September.
Kiwitt was a convincing winner at the same venue back in June as he out-pointed the experienced Kevin McAuley over four rounds.
Now, fresh from a two-week training camp in Germany, the 23 year-old is in confident mood ahead of his latest test in the paid ranks.
“My training camp is going well again,” Kiwitt told www.uko-boxing.com. “I’ve had some excellent training in Germany and have sparred some good fighters. It was a great experience.
“I loved fighting in Torquay last time out. It’s always brilliant to fight back home as there’s more support than usual.
“I hope Devon boxing becomes bigger over the time. We are the Best of Devon and other people will soon start taking notice.”
Pretty Boy is hoping to add Keith Sheen to his list of victims as he eyes a first professional in the near future. Sheen (3-1-1) returned to boxing after a four year absence earlier this year and Kiwitt is expecting a tough encounter when the pair lock horns next month.
“I’m taking Sheen seriously like I always do,” he added. “He’s a got a kid and got a good sport background. His record speaks for himself but he isn’t going to be good enough to beat me. I’ll be prepared and I’ll be victorious. It’s just a matter of time. I want to fight for a first title soon and build my career.”
Tickets are £30 or £50 Ringside and are available by calling: 07837 920 150. Kiwitt is currently seeking a sponsor. More details can be found on his official website: www.prettyboytraining.com.
