Avtandil Khurtsidze: Successful Comeback In NYC
New York, NY(7/24/14) – Tonight in NYC at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill middleweight contender Avtandil Khurtsidze returned to the ring after a nearly three-year hiatus to claim a victory over Allen Conyers on the DiBella Entertainment Broadway Boxing card.
After the bout Khurtsidze commented on his victory and ring return.
“I have not fought in almost three years time and it felt tremendous to once again be back inside the boxing ring. An athlete’s lifespan at which they can compete at the highest level in their respective sports’ is very short and precious, and I am so thankful to once again be able to compete in the sport I so dearly love.”
Regarding the claims coming out of the Ukraine that Elite Boxing is still his exclusive promoter, Khurtsidze stated the following.
“There is no validity to their claim that an agreement exists between myself and their promotional company. I have stated this fact to DiBella Entertainment and I want to state this fact to the public. I have gone so far as to indemnify DiBella Entertainment against any claims made against them. That being said, I look forward to continuing my career on the road towards a world championship.
