Claggett stops Duenas

Canada’s Steve ‘The Dragon’ Claggett (15-1-1, 10 KOs) scored his first career victory on American soil on Oct. 19 when he scored a sensational and dramatic fourth round TKO of highly regarded American welterweight prospect Ricky Duenas (12-2, 6 KOs) at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California.

Claggett climbed off the deck after being dropped for the first time in his career in the opening round but he was calm and poised under pressure and came roaring back to batter Duenas over the remainder of the bout. The 23 year old Chinese-Canadian charge dropped Duenas in Rounds 2 and 4 and after the bell sounded to conclude the fourth the hometown fighter’s corner elected to call the fight off, saving their man from further punishment.

Claggett, who is now based out of Las Vegas’s renowned Mayweather Gym, is looking to build off this career best win and looks forward to better and bigger things to come.
