Cisneros Ready To Challenge Rola El Halabi For WBF World Title
World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Light Welterweight Champion Rola El Halabi, 13-1 (7), will make her second title-defense on May 10 at the Kuhberghalle in her hometown of Ulm, Germany against American perennial contender Victoria Cisneros.
El Halabi, 29 years old and born in Beirut, Lebanon, won the WBF world championship in August of last year with a unanimous decision over Hungarian Dalia Vasarhelyi, and successfully defended it only a month later with a sixth round stoppage over undefeated Georgian Sopio Putkaradze.
Despite an unimpressive win-loss-draw record of 11-14-2 (4), Albuquerque’s Victoria Cisneros (29) will undoubtedly be a sterner challenge for El Halabi, as the American has fought and held her own against some of the biggest names the sport has to offer.
Holy Holm (twice), Cecilia Braekhus, Melissa Hernandez, Chavelle Hallback and Mary McGee is only a few of the stars she has been in the ring with, and having lost only once in her last eight outings she is travelling to Germany with one thing in mind only: To go back as world champion!
“I have had time to prepare for this fight, as opposed to many of the fights I lost, and there will be no excuses”, said Cisneros, who is coming off a stoppage victory over previously undefeated Paty Ramirez (8-0) last November in Mexico.
“This is what I have worked my whole career for. I was hungry for my last fight, but I am even hungrier for this one. I have the experience of fighting all these great boxers, and I have trained very hard. I will go in there and give it 110 percent, kick her ass and go home.”
As the old cliché goes, styles makes fights, and this one is an almost guaranteed action-packed encounter where both boxers will give it their everything. Its surely going to be a hard night for both champion and challenger, but the fans will be in for a treat!
The Rola El Halabi vs. Victoria Cisneros WBF World title fight on May 10 in Ulm, Germany will be promoted by Rola Boxing.
