BUFFER GETS ROYAL TREATMENT IN MONTE CARLO
Monte Carlo (July 13, 2013) Hall of Fame ring announcer Michael Buffer, in Monaco for The Monte Carlo Million Dollar Super 4 Final, literally got treated royally when he and his wife Christine were the personal guests of Prince Albert at the Salle Des Etoiles Monaco for a concert featuring international recording artist Rihanna.
“Spending a week in Monaco is wonderful experience in itself, but being a guest of Prince Albert at Rihanna’s performance makes it something extra special,” said Buffer.
Prince Albert is a long time supporter of sports, having participated in the Olympic Games in the bobsled competition; additionally his wife Princess Charlene was an Olympic swimmer. He has helped bring boxing back to Monaco after an absence of more than 30 years with The Monte Carlo Million Dollar Super 4 Tournament and world title fights.
In March of this year, Monte Carlo had Gennady “GGG” Golovkin defend his WBA and IBO Middleweight Titles and today, Khabib Allakhverdiev defends his WBA and IBO Junior Welterweight Titles against Souleymane M’Baye along with the Super 4 Final featuring Edwin Rodriguez vs. Denis Grachev. The fight card is now a “standing room only” event at Monaco’s famous Monte Carlo Sporting Club in the aforementioned Salle Des Etoiles.
The Monte Carlo Million Dollar Super 4 Finals is promoted by Rodney Berman’s Golden Gloves of South Africa.
