Tonight on GFL.tv, Lou DiBella’s “Broadway Boxing” returns in a HUGE way. Starting at 7pm EST in front of a LIVE WORLDWIDE audience. The type ofevent this is 4 of the 10 fights could be a main event on their own.
In what is being labeled as a main event Luis DeValle (16-1) makes his return to the ring after dropping a tough loss Vic Darchinyan via lopsided Unanimous Decision on HBO. DeValle, who one 16 fights with 11 by way ofstoppage, looks to put himself back into title contention when he steps in the ring with Andre Wilson (13-5-1).
Andre Wilson will be a tough nut for DeValle to crack. 4 of his 5 loses were to top competition Teon Kennedy, Chris Avalos, Leonilo Miranda & Eric Hunter. Wilson will be looking to extend his winning streak to 3 but he will have to dig down deep to avoid being stopped by the powerful DeValle.
In a co-featured attraction Ionut “Jo Jo” Dan Ion (30-2) will continue his path back to World Title contention when he takes on perennial spoiler Damian Frias (19-6-1). Dan, stopped Franklin Gonzalez (15-11) after losing his latest title show to Selcuk Aydin. A win over a fighter like Frias may land him a big fight, but he will have to do it impressively.
Damian Frias, has had many up and downs throughout his career, had a very tough 2012. In August of 2012, Frias lost a tough fight to IBF #1 Carlos Molina (19-5-2) on ESPN2 “Friday Night Fights”. He then returned in November, to drop a controversial razor thin Split Decision to Vitaliy Demyanenko (21-0). Tonight he will be granted what could possibly be his last chance at redemption vs Dan, so expect him to leave it all in the ring.
Also tonight Yuri Foreman (29-2) will continue his comeback when he takes on battle tested Gundrick King (18-9) in a 6 round featured bout. Foreman, former WBA Jr. Middleweight Champion, is fighting in his 2 bout of 2013. After losing his title to Miguel Cotto followed by being battered by Pawel Wolak, Foreman took some time away from the ring. After taking a rejuvenating break, he is ready to make his return to former glory. King will look to foil Foreman’s comeback but will regardless answer some questions regarding where Foreman stands in his return.
Gabriel Bracero (21-1), who is on a 3 fight winning streak since suffering his first loss to Demarcus Corely, will return to the “Broadway Boxing” series to take on battle tested Pavel Miranda (17-9-1). Bracero, who has been rumored for some big level fights recently, needs an impressive win here to position himself for a big named fight on HBO or Showtime.
All action women’s fighter Heather Hardy (4-0) will look to showcase her skills LIVE WORLDWIDE on GFL.tv to Mikayla Nebel (0-4). Hardy, brings a ton of supports and an all action fighting style that continues to build her consistently growing fan base.
Undefeated DBE prospects will also see action as Travis Peterkin (7-0) taking on Danny Garcia (5-2-1), amateur stand out Patrick Day (2-0) will look to stay undefeated when he Yosmani Abreu (3-6-1), and Bryant Cruz (2-0) will look to notch another KO to his resume when he faces Antoine Knight (2-2).
Finally, rounding up the card and representing 50 Cent’s SMS promotions will be Luis Olivares (2-0) who will be facing Christopher Williams (1-0). Also Donte Strayhorn will be making his debut against fellow pro debut er Michael Carreras.
