LOS ANGELES, April 14, 2014 – King Sports Worldwide promised a hard-hitting fight card featuring a collection of boxing’s most exciting young professional fighters at Boxing at Barker on Wednesday, April 16. And they delivered just that. Game on.
After scouring the globe looking for the best up-and-coming boxers in the world, King Sports Worldwide confirmed today five fights that promise to deliver extremely competitive toe-to-toe competition. The card features action packed bouts across five weight classes; including heavyweight, cruiserweight, middleweight, welterweight and light welterweight division
“There will be no ‘undercard’ on Wednesday, April 16,” said Michael King, president, King Sports Worldwide. “We have five exciting fights scheduled featuring equally accomplished fighters. The records and past performances speak for themselves and we will fulfill our promise to bring Southern California boxing fans ultra-competitive fights.”
Martin “Prince Charles” vs. Flores “The Great” – Heavyweight Division
The heavyweight bout features two undefeated fighters. Gifted southpaw Charles Martin (15-0-1) from St. Louis, Mo., who is ranked 17th in the U.S. by BOXREC, will take on Alex Flores (14-0) from Los Angeles, CA., who is ranked 23rd in the U.S. by BOXREC, for the vacant NABO Heavyweight Title.
N’Dam N’Jikam “El Fenomeno” vs. Zuniga – Middleweight Division
The middleweight fight pits Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (29-1) of Cameroon against Fulgencio Zuniga (26-8-1) of Colombia. N’Dam N’Jikam is currently ranked 10th in the world by BOXREC and is a former WBA & WBO world champion. Zuniga is a former IBO world champion who has faced nine former world champions in his career.
Van Heerden “The Heat” vs. Narh “Sugar Ray” – Welterweight Division
Former IBO world champion currently ranked 14th in the world by BOXREC, Chris Van Heerden (20-1-1) of South Africa will take on Ghana native Ray Narh (26-4). Narh comes off a string of five fights where his opponents were a combined 126-6-1.
Dorticos “The Knockout Doctor” vs. Fields “Danger” – Cruiserweight Division
Defending his interim WBA-FEDELATIN cruiserweight title will be Yunier Dorticos (16-0, all by KO) from Cuba. Dorticos’ challenger will be Eric Fields (24-2) who hails from Ardmore, OK., and is the number one ranked contender by the USBA. Fields’ career has included two prior title fights, the WBO/NABO cruiserweight and the WBC Silver cruiserweight championships.
Ghvamichava “The Wolf” vs. Ugas “The Black Prince” – Light Welterweight Division
The light welterweight fight features Levan Ghvamichava (11-1) who resides in the country of Georgia where he was a six-time Georgian champion with 200 amateur fights vs. 2008 Olympic Cuban medalist Yordenis Ugas (15-2).
