Boxeo TELEMUNDO ford opens summer season with a splash

Miami, FL: The successful series of Boxeo TELEMUNDO Ford opens its summer season with a splash on Friday, June 21st, 2013 at the recently renovated Auditorio El Plaza Condesa in Mexico City, Mexico.

In the main event former world title challenger Julian “El Chicano” Rivera of Barrio Tepito in Mexico City, Mexico (12-7-1-2 KO’s) will face fellow brawler Matt “Mighty” Villanueva (9-0-8 KO’s) of Burbank, California in a clash schedule for 10 Rounds with the vacant WBO Latino Superflyweight Title at stake. Last year Rivera was in a 3 fight winning streak on Telemundo which earn him a shot at WBA Champion Juan Carlos Reveco dropping a hard fought decision, Viilanueva on the other hand is a hard punching brawler who has already appeared on ESPN and Showtime and will make his Telemundo debut.

Also on the card undefeated prospect Jessie Villanueva (6-0-4 KO’s) of Cabazon, California (younger brother of Matt Villanueva) who will face Carlos “La Flaca” Barraza (7-3-1-2 KO’s) in a bout schedule for 6 rounds in the superbantamweight division.

First bell at 8:00 PM, 5 mores fights round up the card. Telemundo Network will televise the main event live at 11:35 PM.
