Anthony Hardy sets opponent for second pro-bout
Touted prospects can be found in abundance throughout the United Kingdom. Many of them will ineluctably trade leather some ways down the road of contention.
They route themselves differently. Some brawl in their local clubs — while others look for something much greater. To reach those goals, Horden’s Anthony Hardy (1-0) will prepare for his first career uncertainty in his second professional showdown against Newcastle’s Chris Bennett (1-0) on Saturday, October 19th at the Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom.
“The Hitman” Hardy nabbed a wide unanimous decision victory over trialhorse Matt Seawright in his hotly-contested pro-debut at Phil Jefferies’ July 7th Sunderland show. Hardy used his ring generalship to cruise his way to a victory on points. Since then, Hardy has gone through a number of zealous sparring sessions with some of Britain’s top young prospects — holding his own in each and every one.
Hardy has it tough in with Chris Bennett, a 24-year-old hopeful from Newcastle. Bennett has an identical record as Hardy at 1-0 and exhibits similar potential as a professional boxer. In fact, 17-6 as an amateur, Bennett forever dreamed of boxing as a professional. Will Hardy represent a jolting wake-up-call?
It’ll be something to look forward to on another huge Phil Jefferies’ boxing event. Martin Ward-Gabriel Laryea will take center stage ahead of Anthony Hardy’s much awaited career continuation. Hardy vs Bennett will be contested for four rounds.
