Another Knock-Out Performance For Keane

By Daniel Mole: Chris Keane put in another knock-out performance on Friday as he destroyed Hungarian Tamas Toth inside two rounds. Keane (10-0), who headlined ‘It’s-A-Bout Boxing’s ‘New Blood’ Show at the Institute, Birmingham on Friday was a class above his opponent. The 27 year-old twice had Toth down in the opening round with a series of vicious combinations. Toth bravely battled on but he was only ever putting off the inevitable.

Keane switched his attack from head to body and hurt Toth with a series of stinging hooks, followed up with scything uppercuts. Toth took a big shot early in the second round and, although he recovered in time to beat Shaun Messer’s count, the referee has seen enough.

It was an impressive display by the Midlands Area Cruiserweight Champion who returns to ring action later this month in his hometown. The Walsall boxer will face another International opponent on Martin Gethin’s IBF Final Eliminator undercard ‘Ready To Silence The World’.

“I was happy with how I did in there,” Keane told “Fair play to Tamas, he’s a strong guy. He took some massive shots. They rocked him but he kept coming back. He was game.

“That was my tenth fight and I’m still undefeated, so I’ve got to be happy with that. I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing.

“I’m back out at the end of the month and, hopefully, I can put in another good performance.”

On the undercard of New Blood, Disney Huni outpointedDanny Dontchev 39-38 to make a winning start to his professional career, whilst Chris Truman and Matt Seawright recorded 40-36 points wins over Bheki Moyo and Vaclav Skromach respectively.

Tickets to see Keane next in action on ‘Ready To Silence The World’ are priced at £40 and £75 and are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900.

The show will be live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546). Join at
