Erdei vs Pérez in Hungary on September 6th
29.07 - Hamburg/Szeged - Only eight weeks after his last title defense as WBO Intercontinental Light Heavyweight Champion, Zsolt Erdei, 29, steps into the ring again. The unbeaten Universum pro faces Spaniard Juan Nelongo Pérez, 33, in Szeged in his home country Hungary on September 6.
Erdei vs. Pérez will be the main event of a fight card promoted by Universum Box-Promotion and Zsolt Damosy, broadcast live on RTL Hungary. There are three more Universum professionals on the undercard: Koren Gevor (middleweight), Andreas Kotelnik (jr. welter) and Wladimir Sidorenko (bantam).
In his 16th fight as a pro Erdei stopped Massimiliano Saiani from Italy on July 12 in the 7th round. His upcoming opponent Pérez has a record of 15 wins, four losses and one draw. Pérez originates from the Canary Islands of Tenerife - and he's got a lot of ring experience. Although he lost to Thomas Ulrich, Jean-Marc Mormeck, Philippe Michel and Clinton Woods, he's won the Spanish title and the WBA International title twice.
Zsolt Erdei considers his task with Pérez in his home country as "viable". Erdei said: "It won't take long, and Hungarians can clap their hands for another pro box world champion."
