Heavyweight Triple Header in East Germany
18.04 - Schwerin - On April 26 six charismatic heavyweight fighters will mix it up on a fightcard of Universum Box-Promotion in Schwerin, Germany.
In the main event European heavyweight champion Sinan Samil Sam, 17-0 (10), will make the second defense of his title against Englishman Julius Francis. Sam captured the European crown last October from Przemyslaw Saleta and retained it against Danny Williams in February. The powerful 28-year-old Turk scored eight knockdowns against his two challengers and stopped Saleta in round 7 and Williams in round 6.
Samil Sam is currently ranked #10 by the WBC, #6 by the WBO and #13 in the independent rankings of Fightnews.com.
Also on the card is former European heavyweight champion Luan Krasniqi who will fight a rematch against Przemyslaw Saleta. It will be the third fight of Krasniqi, 22-1 (12), since he lost his EBU title to Saleta last July. In his previous two outings the 31-year-old Krasniqi knocked out Thomas Williams in round 1, then scored a unanimous decision over Sedreck Fields.
The third interesting heavyweight contest of the evening will feature another undefeated heavyweight of Universum Box-Promotion: 26-year-old Konstantin Onofrei, 12-0 (11). The grim looking Rumanian with tattoos all over his body will now take on his stable mate's last opponent: The always surprising Sedreck Fields.
Other fights include a woman world title fight with Regina Halmich, an European super middleweight championship with Mario Veit, 38-1, and a WBA international cruiserweight contest between Pavel Melkomian, 13-0, and Krzysztof Wlodarczyk, 19-0.
