Showtime Pay Per View To Telecast Heavyweight Battle Live at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT

03.07 – Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas will host the heavyweight showdown between legendary four-time heavyweight champion Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield and current International Boxing Federation (IBF) Cruiserweight Champion James “Lights Out” Toney on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The announcement was made today by the event’s promoter, Dan Goossen of Goossen Tutor Promotions.

"When you think of big heavyweight boxing events, you immediately think of Las Vegas and Mandalay Bay,” Goossen said. “It is a tremendous fight staged in the fight capital of the world."

HOLYFIELD - TONEY is expected to be a battle, fought in the center of the ring by two fighters known for their aggressive, forward styles. HOLYFIELD – TONEY will be telecast live on pay per view at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. Tickets will go on sale soon. Watch for further announcements.

Holyfield, boxing’s first and only four-time heavyweight champion, ruled the cruiserweight division and captured numerous world titles from July 1986 until moving to the heavyweight ranks in July 1988. After winning world titles in the middleweight and super middleweight divisions during the early 1990s, Toney, a three-time world champion, added the IBF cruiserweight crown to his resume with a 12-round unanimous decision over champion Vassiliy Jirov on April 26, 2003. “Lights Out” now looks to extend his reputation by standing in the ring against one of boxing’s finest champions.
