MEDIA SLIGHTLY FAVORS HOLYFIELD OVER TONEY

MORE THAN TWO-THIRDS PICK CORRALES OVER CASAMAYOR IN POLL FOR SATURDAY, OCT. 4, PAY-PER-VIEW FIGHT CARD AT MANDALAY BAY RESORT & CASINO IN LAS VEGAS

02.10 - The votes have been tabulated and the big winners on Saturday's SHOWTIME Pay Per View fight card (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT) are Evander Holyfield and Diego Corrales. Of the 54 who responded to the SHOWTIME Pay Per View media poll, 31 picked Holyfield to defeat James Toney in their important heavyweight fight. In an elimination bout between former 130-pound world champions, 35 of 52 picked Corrales over Joel Casamayor. None who participated predicted a blowout in either 12-round fight. More than 83 percent expected Holyfield-Toney to go the distance. More than half (29) predicted Corrales-Casamayor would end inside the distance, but only a handful expected it to go less than six rounds.
