29.10 - GARY SHAW PRODUCTIONS, LLC kicksoff its boxing weekend at the EDGEWATER HOTEL AND CASINO in Laughlin, NV, when it returns with its November installment of their monthly boxing series, "Friday Nights at the Fights!" Friday, November 8. The card will take place in the Edgewater Events Center. The first bell is scheduled for 7 P.M.

GSP returns the following night with its televevision debut, featuring the junior welterweight showdown between former world champions Sharmba Mitchell and Vince Phillips, and the Jeff Lacy - Ross Thompson 12-round WBC Continental Americas super middleweight championship, Saturday, November 9, on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing, beginning at 10 P.M. ET / 10 P.M. PT.

The "Friday Night at the Fights!" series, which takes place the first Friday of every month (except this month), returns with a seven-bout card, featuring, in the Main Event, FECARBOX (Caribbean and Central America) jr. middleweight champion, Armando Velardez, from San Bernadino, CA, taking on Mexico's Jose Luis Cruz in an eight-round jr. middleweight rumble. Velardez won his title in his last fight via a sixth-round TKO over Paulino Avitia in Las Vegas, July 26.

The co-main event will feature a Tex-Mex shootout between Gabriel Vasquez, from Snyder, TX and Alfonso Garcia, from Acapulco, Mexico in a six-round jr. welterweight bout.

The undercard will feature a pair of undefeated lightweights in separate bouts, including: Alex Velardez, from San Bernadino, CA, and Edgewater Casino favorite, Robert Nava, from Lynwood, CA. Plus the return of female lightweight Blanca Luna, from Jalisco, Mexico. Luna made her pro debut last month at The Edgewater, winning a four-round decision over Jessica Mohs.

"We packed the place last month in only our second event. Fight fans now know they have a home for a great show every month at the Edgewater Hotel and Casino," said Gary Shaw. "We are committed to giving fight fans what they really want -- total action from top to bottom. It is a great entertainment value."

Tickets to the fights are priced from $20, which includes a Miller beer and a hot dog, and are on sale now at the Edgewater's Main Cage or at its sister property in Laughlin, the Colorado Belle Hotel and Casino, at the One Club Booth. The Edgewater and the Colorado Belle are properties of the Mandalay Resort Group.
