Vitali Klitschko Could Lose "Hands Down"

Diego Rodriguez

28.11- It appears that Vitali Klitschko, the bigger, older brother of rising star Wladimir Klitschko, earned himself a title shot against the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Lennox Lewis, in his next bout. Still, many questions remain unanswered about both Klitschko brothers, in light of their questionable losses to the likes of Byrd and Puritty.

However, time does go on, and these two fighters do seem to improve their game as they move along. Many people still think that the Klitschko brothers are two very hyped up fighters who have yet to be tested, considering that both of them were beat by lesser fighters. Vitali is known more for his loss to Byrd than for any of his big wins, especially taking into account the fact that he was beating Byrd on all three judges' cards.

Things have taken an odd direction over time: Wladimir got revenge and honored his older brother, Vitali, with his destruction of Chris Byrd. Then, older brother, Vitali moved on to avenge a loss for younger brother, Wladimir, in destroying Ross Puritty. Now sure, these fighters pulled out these wins for themselves as well, but after all, they are family, and when you mess with family bad things can happen-nobody understands this better than Puritty and Byrd.

Vitali Klitschko is on the brink of greatness alongside his brother, the two seem to be very humble and very honest, outspoken athletes, this is very rare in boxing. The only tool that Vitali needs to bring going into his fight against Lennox Lewis is to keep them hands up. I noticed that in his last fight with Donald, Vitali still has that habit, and if he wants to be the new heavyweight champion, he must learn to keep those hands up, always!

There was also some pushing in the Donald fight, if he puts his arms out to push Lennox he may find a right hand coming with full force in between those long arms. Lennox Lewis will try every trick in the book against Vitali, don't forget that he gets away with it as well-holding and hitting, ask Grant, Holyfield, and Tyson about that.

Vitali must use his height, he is the bigger man. Stay big, do not play Lewis's game. Move the older man back, make him miss and make him pay, right away. More than anything, Lewis will try to counter against Vitali; in this fight Lewis is going to need a little help to knock Vitali out, he must not help Lewis. Vitali you are the bigger man, set the tone, but remember, you must keep your hands up or you will get caught, hands down.
