Lytle Accepts Challenge, Defends State Title Against Armstead

08.06 - Press Release - Indiana Super Middleweight Champion Chris Lytle of Indianapolis will travel to Evansville June 25 to defend his crown against veteran slugger Tyrus Armstead in the main event of a six bout card at Harpo's Main Street Exit here.

Armstead, a rugged, all-action brawler who has fought his career around the country taking on all comers, will get his first chance at a title belt right at home.

"This is like a dream come true," said Armstead. "I honestly never figured, when I asked for the fight, that Lytle would'nt have the balls to fight me, much less come to Evansville to do it."

"I'm going to tear his head clean off," declared Armstead.

Lytle, an Indianapolis fireman, has been boxing just over a year. His experience lies in the Ultimate Fighting style combat and he has fought successfully all over the world. He is undefeated in six professional boxing matches.

"I have had experience fighting in Las Vegas, Tokyo and points in between," said Lytle. "I don't think Evansville is going to be too scary."

The card will feature the return of Evansville welterweight Kevin Payne in a six round welterweight bout. The popular Payne has been away from the ring for almost three years.

Promoter Danny Harpo said their would be six pro bouts on the card.

Tickets are on sale at Harpo's Main Street Exit at 1031 Main Street in Evansville and are priced at $20 apiece. For more information call 812-468-9400.
