06.06 - Press Release - Professional boxing return's to Evansville Wednesday, June 25 with a six bout card at Harpo's Main Street Exit at 1031 Main Street. Danny Harpo, owner of the popular watering-hole, is excted about his first foray into boxing. "We have all kinds of promotions here but this is the first time we're trying boxing," said Harpo. "The local boxers around Evansville have to fight in the other guy's back yard all the time and as a fan and friend of several of the guys, I wanted to give them a chance to shine at home."

Harpo is trying to line up an Indiana Boxing Association title bout for the main event, but he plans to feature popular welterweight Kevin Payne in a six round bout. Payne will end a three year hiatus from the ring and plans to resume his ring career with renewed dedication. "I had to go to work and get my personal life in order," said Payne. "Now I have things where I want them and I can dedicate the time and energy to my boxing."

Payne will face Milwaukee veteran Nelson "El Nino" Hernandez in a welterweight bout.

Evansville veteran warrior John "Papa" Moore, Wayne Cooper and Tyrus Armstead are expected to see action on the card.

Harpo has offered Indiana super middleweight champion Chris Lytle a chance to defend his title against Armstead in the main event. "If this guys is a real State champion, let him put it on the line," said Armstead.
