07.08 - Tulsa, OK Record breaking boxer and 2002 Golden Gloves Champion, "The True Dream", Allan Green, recently broke the world record for a knockout in the 2002 Golden Gloves National Championships held this past June in Denver, Co. The previous record for a knockout was 8 seconds, set by Iron Mike Tyson over 20 years ago. Allan Green knocked out Tommy Crupe from Detroit, in the Quarterfinal round in 6 seconds, on his way to becoming the 2002 National Golden Gloves Light-Heavyweight Champion.

Green, a 22 year old native of Tulsa, OK., is 6' 2" , 175lbs. He is a five time Oklahoma state champion and has won four Regional Golden Glove championships before winning the National Golden Gloves Championship this year. His amateur boxing record is 55-6 with 40 knockouts. Green's speed and power have leading analysts comparing his lightening quick style to that of boxing champ Roy Jones.

Allan will be boxing in two more amateur tournaments this year; the Missouri Black Expo, August 17 &18, 2002, held at the American Center in St. Louis and the 2002 Ringside National Championships, August 28 through Sept. 1, 2002, in Kansas City, MO. He has recently turned down an opportunity to compete in the 2004 Olympics to join the professional ranks of boxing,. He will begin his training to turn professional, in Tulsa, immediately after his last tournament in Kansas City.
