TELLY BOOST FOR MIHALY KOTAI

BIGGEST HUNGARIAN TV STATION SIGNS EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT

20.07 - RTL Klub, Hungary's biggest television company, has this weekend committed to support the country's current top fighter, WBC International superwelterweight champion Mihaly Kotai.
At a Friday press conference in Budapest staged at the restaurant "Box Utca" of Istvan "KoKo" Kovacs, the former WBO featherweight champion almost symbolically passed the torch over to Kotai, calling him Hungary' s new No. 1.

Together with RTL Director of Programming Peter Kolosi, Kotai's promoter Krzysztof Zbarski of Polish Boxing Promotion announced the signing of a five- year deal with the network to exclusively screen the 26-year-old's fights in Hungary.

The launch of a new co-operation will already start on the 27th of July when Mihaly Kotai clashes over six rounds with former IBF world title challenger Howard Clarke in Nottingham, England on a Ringside Promotion.

German manager Olaf Schroeder, whose company Fight Production exclusively manages Mihaly Kotai since the start of his professional career, was elated with the new developments in his charges career prospect. "We have succeeded to Make Mihaly a household name in Hungary in very quick time, but now we have - at the perfectly right time - been given a great platform by RTL Klub to also make him an international star. They will screen his fights from any place in the world and soon Mihaly will make headlines on big promotions all over. If he keeps his head straight and keeps progressing, I have no doubt whatsoever that the name of Mihaly Kotai will attract action-loving boxing fans everywhere," Schroeder told the media in Budapest.

A 26-year-old, hard punching Kotai has compiled a perfect 17-0 (10) record and shot up to a No. 7 ranking in European less than 16 months. In his last fight, he outpointed South African champion William Gare two months ago in the Hungarian capital to win his first pro title, the prestigious WBC International superwelterweight crown.
