New York vs. Denver Police & Firefighters Fight Night Benefit
11.12 - On Saturday January 11, 2003, Manhattans Hammerstein Ballroom will host The Big Showdown: Rumble in Manhattan14 boxing matches featuring fighters from the NYPD, FDNY, the Denver Police and Fire Departments, and celebrity bouts with stars of One Life to Live. Stars from One Life to Live including Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Catherine Hickland (Lindsey), and Nathaniel Marston (Al), will also be part of the celebrity autograph session, along with members of the New York Giants, including Tiki Barber, Kerry Collins, Michael Strahan, Jason Sehorn, and Amani Toomer.
Tickets start at $20. All proceeds will benefit six families who lost loved ones on 9/11, based upon need and level of hardship, three from the NYPD and three from the FDNY. On Saturday, January 11, 2003 over 1,500 of New Yorks business elite, the NY Giants, the cast of One Life to Live, and Denvers and New Yorks Finest and Bravest will gather for our first annual charity boxing event The Big Showdown: A Rumble in Manhattan. The event will take place in New York Citys Manhattan Center at the Hammerstein Ballroom and will benefit families of September 11th.
The evening will benefit six families, all hand selected based upon need and level of hardship, three from the NYPD and three from the FDNY.
The NYPD Fighting Finest Boxing Team is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization.
