"JUICE ON THE LOOSE"

26.02 - The Royal York Hotel, Toronto, Ontario is once again proud to host live professional boxing April 9, 2003.

Toronto, Canada's own Rico "Juice" Tan (10-0-2 9 KO's) will battle against Ambioris Figuero (10-3-3 6 KO's) of the Dominican Republic in a 12 round main event for the vacant WBA Fedecentro Welterweight Title. Tan ranked #6 by the WBA Fedecentro and Figuero #9 are both shooting for world rankings.

Tan's last bout was a December 6 massacre of Jimmi Zeikle (35-5) as Rico laid out the Kansas City veteran cold with a first round knockout, and defended his current NABC Welterweight title. Many boxing experts see Tan as the top professional prospect in Canada, and he plans on proving them right by bringing the WBA Fedecentro title to his hometown.

Figuero has an extensive amateur background with over 250 bouts and is the current Dominican Republic Champion. His pro experience; which got off to a late start due to a 5 year prison sentence, includes recent contests with fellow Dominican Victoriano Sosa, Denmark's Hasan Al and England's WBU champion, Ricky "The Hit Man" Hatton.

The under card will feature Winnipeg's Chad " Bad Intentions" Brisson (11-2 5 KO's) bouncing back from his close decision loss to Billy Irwin last year as he does battle with Indianapolis, Indiana veteran, Michael Davis (23-14 9 KO's) in a 10 round lightweight bout.

The opening bout of the evening will see Toronto's Ehsan Arghash; a frequent sparring partner of Rico Tan, making his pro debut against Jeff Hill. Arghash and Tan are both trained and managed by Toronto's John Melich.
