Williams vs Purlette on June 10

29.05 - World-ranked heavyweight Jeremy Williams, who's promoted by Cedric Kushner Promotions, is scheduled for the 10-round main event against Andre Purlett on an ESPN2 card June 10 in Corpus Christi, Texas,

Williams, who may have the most unique nickname in boxing, "Half-Man, Half-Amazing," has a record of 39-4-1 with 35 knockouts and is ranked No. 19 by the World Boxing Council.

The 30-year-old Williams, from North Hills, Calif., had won four straight, three by knockout, all on Cedric Kushner Promotions' "Everlast Heavyweight Explosion" cards, before settling for a 10-round draw in is most recent bout Jan, 30 in Portland, Ore., against former International Boxing Federation cruiserweight champion Al Cole.

Prior to that surprising draw, Williams last year stopped Gilbert Martinez in the ninth round Sept. 29 in Lemoore, Calif.; took a 10-round decision over Ron Guerrero June 7 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nev.; halted David Bostice in the first April 21 at the Flamingo Laughlin (Nev.); and stopped Louis Monaco in the first March 17 in Oroville, Calif.

The 29-year-old Purlett, originally from Guyana but now living in Hollywood, Fla., has a record of 35-1 with 32 knockouts.
