McCline Returns March 1 On Jones-Ruiz Las Vegas Card
21.01 - World-ranked heavyweight Jameel McCline, who's promoted by Cedric Kushner Promotions, takes his first fight since his world championship challenge during December when he appears in a 10-round bout on the undercard of the John Ruiz-Roy Jones Jr. World Boxing Association heavyweight title bout March 1 in Las Vegas, Nev.
McCline faces Gabe Brown in the bout at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
"I'm looking forward to returning to action right away and getting on the wining track," said McCline.
The 6-foot-6-inch, 260-pound McCline, from Port Jefferson, N.Y., has a record of 28-3-3 with16 knockouts and is ranked No. 5 by the International Boxing Federation and No. 6 by the World Boxing Council.
The 32-year-old McCline had a mark of 26-0-2 dating back to 1996 prior to his most recent bout, a loss to Wladimir Klitschko Dec. 7 in Las Vegas for the World Boxing Organization heavyweight championship.
The 30-year-old Brown, from Pensacola, Fla., has a record of 14-2 with nine knockouts and is coming off a third-round knockout of Errol Sadikovski Sept. 20 in Jersey City, N.J.
