DEFIAGBON-HATCHER, SHUFFORD-MARTINEZ JULY 12

17.06 - Undefeated heavyweight David Defiagbon of Las Vegas, Nev., meets Charles Hatcher of Columbus, Ohio, in the 10-round main event on the nationally and internationally televised "Everlast Heavyweight Explosion" professional boxing card presented by Cedric Kushner Promotions Saturday, July 12, at Caesars Tahoe in Stateline, Nev.

Highly regarded heavyweight Charles Shufford of Las Vegas faces Gilbert Martinez of Sacramento, Calif., in the semi-main event. Also on the Cedric Kushner Promotions card is heavyweight Jovo Pudar of Queens, N.Y., in a six-round bout.

Other fights on the seven-bout card at Caesars Tahoe feature women's light flyweights Stephanie Dobbs of Moore, Okla., and Hollie Dunaway of Fort Smith, Ark.; South Lake Tahoe, Calif., super welterweight Simon Ruvalcaba; and unbeaten prospects Shane Cameron, a heavyweight, and Daniel Codling, a super welterweight.

The Cedric Kushner Promotions card starts at 7 p.m. (Pacific) with doors to the Circus Maximus showroom opening at 6.

Tickets for the card at Caesars Tahoe are priced at $25, $35, $50 and $75 with all seats reserved.

The 33-year-old Defiagabon, originally from Nigeria, has a record of 19-0 with 11 knockouts while the 30-year-old Hatcher has a mark of 14-4 with 10 knockouts.

The 30-year-old Shufford has a record of 19-4 with nine knockouts while the 37-year-old Martinez, a southpaw, has a mark of 15-5-1 with seven knockouts.

The 32-year-old Pudar has a record of 18-1 with nine knockouts.

Defiagbon is coming off two unanimous decision wins, over Joe Lenhart April 26 in Las Vegas and over Ramon Hayes on a Cedric Kushner Promotions "Everlast Heavyweight Explosion" card Sept. 29 in Lemoore, Calif.

Hatcher is managed by John Johnson, who also trained James "Buster" Douglas to his stunning upset win over Mike Tyson for the undisputed world heavyweight championship

Shufford won the International Boxing Association Americas heavyweight championship with a 12-round unanimous decision over Eliecer Castillo on a Cedric Kushner Promotions "Everlast Heavyweight Explosion" card Oct. 13 in Choctaw, Miss.

This is the fourth Cedric Kushner-promoted card on which Martinez has appeared; he's won two of those bouts, beating Jimmy Lester and Fernely Feliz and losing to Jeremy Williams.
Pudar has won 11 straight.

The 25-year-old Ruvalcaba has a record of 2-4-1 with no knockouts and has won his past two bouts by decision over Dwayne Pope, April 12 on a Cedric Kushner Promotions "Everlast Heavyweight Explosion" card at Caesars Tahoe and again May 17 in Reno, Nev.

The 25-year-old Cameron, originally from New Zealand and now living in Las Vegas, has a record of 3-0 with three knockouts.

The 23-year-old Codling, also from New Zealand and living in Las Vegas, has a record of 2-0 with one knockout.

Both Cameron and Codling are managed and trained by Kevin Barry, who also manages and trains world-ranked heavyweight contender David Tua.

Dobbs has a record of 7-8-2 with five knockouts while Dunaway has a mark of 1-2 with one knockout. Dobbs also appeared on the Cedric Kushner Promotions' card April 12 at Caesars Tahoe, getting a draw with Deidra Hamaguchi.

The Shufford-Martinez fight is scheduled for eight rounds; the Pudar fight is set for six rounds; the contests involving Ruvalcaba, Cameron, Codling and Dobbs-Dunaway are set for four rounds.
Opponents for Pudar, Ruvalcaba, Cameron and Codling will be announced.

The card will be televised nationally on HDNet and on tape delay to more than 100 countries on the Cedric Kushner Promotions Sports Network.
