CKP'S MICHAEL GRANT NOW FIGHTING JAN. 24 IN PHILADELPHIA

08.01 - Heavyweight contender Michael Grant, who's promoted by Cedric Kushner Promotions, now will fight in Jan. 24 in Philadelphia. The 6-foot-7-inch Grant originally had been scheduled to fight Jan. 25 in Reno, Nev., but that card, promoted by George Chung, was postponed.

Grant, who met Lennox Lewis for the World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation heavyweight championships during 2000, has won five straight by knockout: James Walton in the fourth round on Nov. 7 in Washington, D.C.; Robert Davis in the third Aug. 3 in Ledyard, Conn.; Anthony Willis in the second June 1 in Las Vegas, Nev.; Joe Lenhart in the fifth April 13 in Chester, W. Va.; and Reynaldo Minus in the fourth March 9 in Pittsburgh.

Also on that card in The Spectrum will be Cedric Kushner Promotions' undefeated welterweight sensation, Anthony Thompson, who'll be making his hometown debut. Opponents for both Grant and Thompson will be determined.
