20.08 - Hello fight fans!!!!!!Your favorite scribe is back on the scene. Whether you like it or don't like it....

Well, I was very disappointed in double m Michael Moorer. It looked like he didn't even try. He was not warmed up properly(dry) and came into the ring in a hotel bathrobe!!! He then just didn't look right. He stood there, and then it was over. I guess he got his paycheck.

Perhaps I overestimated Mike. He has never really been into boxing. He has abused his body, and been a lazy fighter. It looked like last night he was just in there to be there. He didn't move or do anything. It was sad to say the least. Should he retire? I don't know. Moorer has never taken alot of punishment in his career. He is still a name. Everyone expected a Tua KO, it just happened earlier. Tua is the hardest hitter in the game. Like Tyson. Should any of their opponents retire? I think it was expected, so I won't put too much thought into it. He looked pretty bad afterwards though. I think he can still be a quality opponent, but it's up to him. If he goes in like he did Saturday night, he should hang em up.

As far as David Tua goes, it's the same ole story. If you stand in front of him ie Obed Sullivan, John Ruiz and now Moorer, you will get caught, plain and simple. If your footwork and chin are bad, you will lose. I don't think much of David. He is still one-dimensional, relying on his left hook to end it. Sure he had some nice body work, but Moorer stood right in front of him. Tua will always have a "puncher's chance", but I equate that with "no chance". Meaning, if you can box, ie Chris Byrd, Fres Oquendo and Lennox Lewis, you can beat Tua. Movement makes the big lug look foolish.

The money definately was on David. The line went from -185 to -340!!!! It was crazy. Usually the public is wrong. The books clean up. Not this time. They were right on the money. This time.

So what's next for the "throwin" Samoan? I don't think Wlad Klitschko(ala Quitschko, Hans from SNL) will fight him. The Euro is protected and would lose everything if he is knocked out. Why chance it? I don't think Mike Tyson or Lennox Lewis will touch him. The only match I would like to see is a rematch between David and Hasbeen Rahman. I don't think Holy man is going to give Rahman a rematch. I would say Rahman would outbox him again this time, only an incompetent ref, won't decide the outcome.

Looks like Tyson-Ruiz. Or does it? Seems like Team Ruiz is not happy, trying to break their contract, saying King is not working in Ruiz's best interest. Ruiz wants Tyson, the biggest fight, money wise. He wants to pad his checkbook because he knows his time will be up soon. He will be KTFO(knocked the ---- out). They don't want Evander Holyfield again, because they know the old man is still dangerous, and should have won the last two fights. It's funny, because after the Kirk Johnson bout, Don King and Team Ruiz had this big lovefest. With Stoney(Norm Stone) kissing King's butt. All is not well. I would take Ruiz by DQ by the way, if it happens. Mike will get disqualified, after Ruiz holds and clinches, or grabs and jabs.

It also seems double LL Lennox Lewis is not done fighting. Word is he wants a few more fights. He is still the #1 guy out there right now. Mine as well pad the pocketbook. He is not "punchdrunk". Byrd, Klits, are possible opponents. Perhaps even Tyson.

Nice win by James Toney over Jason Robinson, but I'm still not sold on Toney. Next up is Vassily Jirov. I think Toney has a chance, but the more likely scenario is Jirov by decision. But if Toney can land.....

The prospect, Jermain Taylor won when his opponent Sam Hill, went into survival mode. His team should move him slowly.

Word is Miguel Cotto is going to fight John Brown. Unfortunately Brown is shot and old. Cotto should move up to bigger opposition, but I can't argue with his management. A loss can be devastating. Ask Francisco Bojado. Anyone seen him?

Keep the emails and comments coming. Good and bad. It means you are reading, so I can't complain about that. You know you love to read the champs work!!! Whether you agree to disagree or not. But at least put your name on your work.

My pick this weekend is Derrick Gainer over Daniel Seda. Seda's chin is worse than "smoke's". I don't care if it is in Puerto Rico or not.

Well thats it fight fans!!!!!!Keep you hands up and keep punching for the stars!!!!
