Zsolt Erdei to bullfight El Toro De Baradero

14.11 - Dortmund – Hungarian Zsolt Erdei will have to get past a bull in his next fight. On November 23 the undefeated light heavyweight contender takes on Juan Carlos Jimenez from Paraguay, a man nicknamed “El Toro De Baradero”. On the line will be the WBO intercontinental belt that the 28-year-old Erdei, 13-0 (9), captured in October in Debrecen, Hungary, by knocking out South African Jim Murray.

The fight will be on the undercard of the WBA international title contest between Dr. Vitali Klitschko and Larry Donald at the huge Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany.

Juan Carlos Gimenez, a boxing veteran with a record of 31-10-2 and 19 knockouts, fought for WBC and WBO super middleweight world titles four times in his career: Against Mauro Galvano and Chris Eubank in 1992, against Nigel Benn in 1994 and against Joe Calzaghe in 1998. Only Welshman Calzaghe was able to stop “El Toro De Baradero”. He still needed ten rounds to take the bull by the horns.

Beside his four world title fights Gimenez also battled fellow south American boxing legends Roberto Duran and Jorge Castro.

Zsolt Erdei is a former Amateur world champion. He turned pro for Hamburg’s Universum Box-Promotion two years ago. Beside nine professional fights in Germany Erdei also stepped into the ring twice in the United States and twice in Hungary.
