Craig has never fought outside of New York. He turned professional at age 28 on a dare from his ex-brother-in-law, former WBA Light Heavyweight champion Lou Del Valle.

A tall, smooth boxer/puncher with an excellent jab, Salamone has a wealth of natural ability and rapidly developing skills. He is able to get up off the floor and win and is always in excellent condition. The ex-husband of top-rated female fighter Melissa Salamone-Del Valle (the two remain friends), he regularly spars with her ex-champion brother and a host of other world-class fighters

BEST WIN: On September 9, 1998, Salamone defeated previously undefeated Shawn Avery.

AMATEUR, PERSONAL BACKGROUND: Despite an amateur career of only 13 fights (11-2), Craig is a two-time New York Golden Gloves semi-finalist. He played basketball for Mitchell College as a short forward. “The reason I haven’t gone down south to fight is easy,” said Salamone. “I fight fighters. I’m not looking for any easy fights to pad my record.”

WEAKNESSES: Tends to get lazy, especially during easy fights… will deviate from a fight plan and opt to brawl un-necessarily needs to stay focused.
