Kellerman on Michalczewski

By Jared M. Callanan

05.04 - Friday Night Fights - Max Kellerman was up to his normal tactics again last night trying to defame Lineal Light Heavyweight Champion Dariusz Michalczewski. This time Max Kellerman decided to go with a different route, this time he was alleging things that were so absurd that not even the most maniacal conspiracy theorists would believe.

Kellerman purported that the scales were rigged in Germany when they showed that challenger Derrick Harmon was five pounds overweight. Kellerman alleges that the scales were rigged by eight pounds meaning that Harmon was actually 172.5 pounds on his first attempt at weighing in. Maybe Max can explain to us how that's unlikely since Harmon hasn't weight in at that light of a weight since prior to 2001 (if ever, my data only goes back to 2001 in his fight against Roy Jones Jr.).

He then goes on to tell us that Harmon confided in him that someone had broken into his hotel room and they had to chase this burglar away from the hotel. <sarcasm> I am sure this was the antics of the devils that are Universum Promotions. This is Watergate all over again. I am sure that thief was hired by Universum to steal the all-important strategic notes that Harmon was carrying around with him. There were no signs of a break-in? I am sure Universum paid the hotel to give this thief a key the Harmon's room. Only makes sense right? </sarcam>.

These conspiracy theories are asinine and could only come from someone who is a worshipper of Roy Jones Jr., which is exactly what Max Kellerman is. Max Kellerman wants to tell a public that has never seen Michalczewski fight that he isn't a good boxer. Max Kellerman wants to tell a public that has little to no knowledge on the German boxing scene that weird and superficial things happen to American boxers who travel abroad for their fights. Why? Because Max Kellerman doesn't want the public to continue doing the right thing and pressing for a fight that needs to happen between Dariusz Michalczewski vs. Roy Jones Jr. Max Kellerman and the Jones fanatics don't want people to recognize Michalczewski as a Light Heavyweight Champion and one of the greater ones in the history of the division.

Kellerman, like all Roy Jones fanatics wants the people to believe that Michalczewski is nothing but a hyped up boxer from Germany. Reality is that Dariusz Michalczewski is the true Light Heavyweight Champion. Reality is that Michalczewski has a chance to do what Roy Jones doesn't, retire undefeated. Michalczewski has already set records at the Light Heavyweight division, which Roy Jones Jr. never did. Michalczewski is a threat to Roy Jones' Light Heavyweight legacy and this is why these fanatics pull out conspiracy theories in an attempt to smear the name of Dariusz Michalczewski.
