Last night Tori “Sho Nuff” Nelson successfully defended her WIBA welterweight championship against former world champion Mia St. John. The bout was the main event for Ponytail Promotions who held their first card at Northern Virginia Community College.

Both Tori and Mia came to fight as there was no feeling out process in the first round. Tori started to unload huge shots and the crowd went crazy yelling chants of “Sho Nuff” to root on their champion. The second round started off the same with Tori coming forward.

Mia could never get started and continued getting hammered with big shots. Mia was caught on the ropes when Tori landed a big left that caused referee Steve Smoger to take a hard look at the action. Once a few more punches landed on Mia it was clear that the fight needed to be stopped. Mia was no match for the strong Tori Nelson. The crowd went wild as the pro Tori crowd celebrated her victory.

Promoter James Hogan put together a action packed card that showcased amateur and professional talent from the DMV area. In attendance we had DC boxing legend Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson and Niles Paul from the Washington Redskins. The crowd enjoyed themselves and its safe to say that Ponytail Promotions put on a successful card for their debut.
