Hot Filipino prospect Randy Petalcorin (21-1-1, 16 KOs) heads into the first world title bout of his career this Tuesday night, when he takes on Panamanian Walter Tello (20-7, 8 KOs) for the interim WBA light flyweight title in Shanghai, China.

The bout will be the co-main event in the first edition of the Fist of Power boxing television program, which will be broadcast throughout China and is the latest venture between Top Rank Boxing, SECA and Sands China Ltd.

Undefeated Chinese prospect Ik Yang (15-0, 9 KOs) will headline the event in a 10 round junior welterweight bout against Sukkasem Kietyongyuth (13-2, 8 KOs) of Thailand.

Ranked #10 by Ring magazine at light flyweight, Petalcorin has shown terrific skills and a great ability to finish his opponents in his career to date, which sets him in good stead ahead of facing the experienced Tello, who as a former three time world title challenger, will be very determined to realise championship success in his fourth attempt.

Speaking ahead of the bout, Petalcorin’s co-manager Peter Maniatis stated in relation to Tello, “myself and co- manager Jim Manangquil both watched Walter Tello fight Rossel (Albert) on YouTube and we both agree this is the toughest fight of Petalcorin career, but saying that we have come up with a secret game plan we feel will surprise Tello on fight night.”

According to Maniatis, Petalcorin has settled in fine in Shanghai, China and will make Monday’s weigh in with no problems at all.

The winner of the interim title on Tuesday night will challenge WBA world champion Peruvian Albert Rossel (32-8, 13 KOs) on the Manny Pacquiao – Chris Algieri undercard in November.

Pacquiao is currently in Shanghai and will hold a press conference for his November bout with Algieri after the weigh in for Fist of Power on Monday afternoon.

The appearance of Pacquiao in Shanghai will certainly provide further exposure to the Fist of Power promotion across China and boxing fans worldwide.
