Long time lineal heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko thinks it is going to be a case of “been there, done that” when he fights giant 6ft 9″ challenger Tyson Fury in Germany on October 24th, comparing his loquacious challenger’s antics to that of David Haye, who famously taunted the brothers numerous times in the lead up to his 2011 loss to Wladimir.

Haye more than came up short that night and failed to back up his pre-fight boasts, blaming his lackluster performance on a broken toe, yet Wladimir feels Haye came out the other side a ‘better person’, having learned a valuable lesson in humility, and Dr.Steelhammer today said to iFLtv that he expects this fight to play out much the same way.

“This guy, same like David Haye, needs therapy – and I am like a therapist for them! I promised David Haye before the fight (that) I’m gonna make him a better person, and I’m so happy David became a better person after that fight.

“I believe Tyson Fury is going through the same schedule – he’s 26, he’s young and having not very much experience – he’s very talented at boxing, not to underestimate that – but he’s doing things and saying things that he will regret later on.”

Responding to Fury’s comments at today’s presser, in which the Brit made reference to Wladimir’s “boring, jab and grab style”, Klitschko said;

“It’s funny, I kind of have Déjà vu. Kubrat Pulev said the same thing, that I’m jabbing and grabbing, and am so boring – that he was such an exciting fighter and he could make it more exciting – he was going to be champion. I don’t have to comment where he is now.”

“I’ve heard it a lot. My glass chin is gonna be crashed (sic). Fury says he’s fighting an old man, an old man who’s wrinkled and has grey hair and is not as good as I was before?”

“I think the best lesson is the fight itself.”

“I believe after all the talk – and Tyson is more famous for his talk than his fighting – that fists will speak louder than words.”
