Kell Brook Clears Up The Khan Situation

Many many column inches are being devoted to the potential Brook v Khan fight, that so far continues to elude us thanks to Amir Khan’s stubborn insistence that Brook is somehow ‘undeserving’ of sharing a ring with him.

It’s a fight the British public in particular are desperate to see – and thankfully, down to this day and age of media saturation via the internet – every verbal barb and excuse is visible and it’s growing increasingly obvious who is stopping this fight from happening – even to the man in the street and the “casual” fan, if you will.

And it’s not the IBF 147lb champion, who has once again gone on the record to state his position unequivocally regarding Khan, telling Sky Sports;

“I think he’s full of rubbish. If there is a world title on the line, any fighter that lives with a pair of gloves wants to fight for a world title. There is no bigger fight in the UK than me and Khan, it sells any arena out. It doesn’t make any sense to me at all, so he’s got to be running scared.”

And it seems the majority of the fans agree with Kell, barring the usual Khan defenders.

If Amir enjoys one thing mind you, it is a loyal following. Something he’s increasingly needing to defend his tattered reputation and desperate Mayweather chasing – that in all honesty, makes him looks pitiful and somewhat pathetic at times.

Brook is also dismissive of Khan’s chances in the Mayweather lottery, saying;

“There is no chance of him getting the Floyd Mayweather fight. He’s done nothing to merit that fight. Every time he’s stepped up, he’s got knocked out. I don’t know why he’s playing these games.”

Sad for a fighter who once had so much promise and still has obvious natural gifts. If only he’d truly test himself against the best at 147. Start with Brook, Thurman, Bradley. Even rematch Danny Garcia. He wants to come up. There are so many credible options for Amir Khan. He just doesn’t seem to want to hear them.

Maybe “frustrating” is an appropriately polite word for Amir Khan at the moment?

I can certainly think of a few expletives!
