Buglioni & Markham To Do It Again

After their blood and guts war that more than ably headlined Frank Warren’s recent “Striking Distance” show from the SSE Arena in London earlier this month, Enfield’s “Wise Guy” Frank Buglioni and Romford’s Lee “Banjo” Markham are set to go at it again – after their electrifying first fight ended in (a rightful) draw.

Announced by George Warren on “Bunce’s Boxing Hour” and by Buglioni himself via his twitter feed, the rematch is set for July 24th at the same venue – and each man will be determined to walk out a clear winner and leave nothing in the hands of the judges this time.

The immediate rematch is really the only logical option in my eyes after such a close toe-to-toe thriller in which each man showed his own frailties as the fight wore on – in what was a back and forth, action packed affair that saw Buglioni hold on to his WBO European 168lb strap.

Styles make fights? You can say that again!

The real winner is sure to be the fans and I have no doubt that this is set to be one of the most eagerly anticipated domestic clashes of the year, though it will have to go some way to top the first one!

Buglioni said;

“I’ll be coming at Markham at full force this time and not leave it to the judges – so there won’t be a third fight.”

“I’ve seen his weaknesses up close and this time around I’ll fully exploit them. I’ll be out to do a demolition job on him once and for all and get him out of the way. It was a great fight for our fans last time and this time it’ll be even bigger.”

Essex rival Markham, had this to say;

“Buglioni can’t get any fitter than he did for the last fight and he couldn’t handle the pace I set from the first bell.”

“I want this to be the final time we meet and I’ve no intention of leaving this to the scorecards. I’ll finish him off this time so I can get on with my career.”

The fight, to be officially announced next week – will be screened on Boxnation in the UK.
