Brandon Gonzales vs Don Mouton: round by round

Rd 1: Gonzales keeping Mouton at bay with the jab. mouton trying to find his way in unsuccessfully. Gonzales doubling the jab up and landing it frequently. Mouton having a hard time finding his way in. Mouton Finally gets in throws a few punch combo, but misses. Gonzales’ hand and foot speed seems to be the difference in the opening round. Mouton finishes then rd up on the ropes as Gonzales finishes up strong , as Gonzales lands a right hand at the bell.

Rd2: Mouton landing short hooks that seem to be ineffective. Gonzales still pumping that jab. Gonzales lands a nice hook/jab combo. Gonzales has mouton on the ropes again, as mouton is landing what seems to be strong inside shots against the ropes. Mouton is on the ropes once again, but Mouton is landing some punches on the ropes. Gonzales landing some of his own punches on the ropes. Gonzales seems to be the aggressor and more athletically gifted fighter. Gonzales landing some nice uppercuts to close out the round.

Rd 3: Gonzales again using his hand as foot speed as Mouton has one speed and approach which is forward. Mouton isn’t using much head movement at all, but does seen to be landing powerful shots. Gonzales still pumping that jab.

Rd 4: Mouton coming in throwing wide punches and missing, as Gonzales peppers Mouton with jabs. Gonzales is not performing very well on the inside, but is out working Mouton. Gonzales is also landing at a much higher success rate as mouton’s punches are hitting Gonzales on the gloves or completely missing him. Mouton closes the round working on the inside, but Gonzales is landing the more crisp punches.

Rd5: Gonzales starts the fifth off with the jab, as Mouton moves forward right into Gonzales’s punches. Gonzales landing with jabs, and left hooks as the round goes on. Gonzales has Mouton on the ropes once again landing some nice inside shots. They move to the center of the ring again, as Gonzales gets the best of another exchange, then has Mouton on the ropes once again. Gonzales is landing a ton of hard shots as he has Mouton hurt to close out the round.

Rd 6: The sixth round starts out with Gonzales using his superior athletic ability to get out of Mouton’s range, and peppers him with shots. Gonzales gets the best of a couple of more exchanges. Gonzales has Mouton on the ropes once again landing some inside shots. Gonzales is putting some nice punches together in the center of the ring, as he backs Mouton up against the ropes again. Gonzales is the obvious aggressor, and seems to have Mouton tired or hurt. Gonzales lands a bunch of nice upper cuts to close the round.

Rd 7: Mouton opens the 7th throwing wide punches being very aggressive. Mouton landing some powerful shots seemingly having Gozales atleast momentarily hurt. Mouton landing a jab of his own, and some powerful shots. Mouton’s first strong round. Gonzales gets Mouton against the ropes again, but Mouton is landing strong punches. Gonzales landing some punches of his own to close out the round.

Rd 8: Gonzales landing some jabs and left hooks, as mouton moves straight forward aggressively. Gonzales seems to be getting tired, but is still getting the best of the exchanges. Gonzales has Mouton against the ropes again with little action. They move to the center frye ring as Gonzales is getting the best of the action landing nice shots.
